Senate President Larry Obhof, R-Medina.
COLUMBUS — “Ohio’s Senate leader wants to create energy policy that can last the next 10 years.
Senate President Larry Obhof, R-Medina, said at an energy forum hosted by Vorys Advisors that remaking Ohio’s energy market is one of the key issues for the legislature in the next two years, a push led by Columbus utility American Electric Power Company Inc. (NYSE:AEP).
…Obhof said he wants to set a policy that lets businesses know what the ground rules are for the next decade, and that the requirements won’t constantly change.
‘That’s the Senate perspective – what can we do together to put a fork in this finally instead of coming back every two years?’ he said.
Rep. Ryan Smith, R-Bidwell and chairman of the House Finance Committee, said he wants to make sure energy costs are consistent.”
