COLUMBUS — “As lawmakers debate the future of Ohio’s clean energy standards, nine businesses that collectively employ more than 25,000 people in Ohio, urge lawmakers to reinstate and strengthen Ohio’s renewable energy and energy efficiency standards.
Before the freeze on Ohio’s renewable energy and energy efficiency standards, Ohio’s clean energy policies were working and producing cost-savings benefits for businesses and ratepayers alike. Senate Bill 320, and other proposals that would delay the standards, only serve to stall investments and create more uncertainty for businesses and investors. This is the wrong direction for Ohio.
Strengthening Ohio’s renewable energy and energy efficiency standards will help us build a stronger, more resilient Ohio. It will encourage innovation, create jobs and make Ohio more competitive. It’s a future we want for all Ohioans. It’s time to get clean energy back on track in Ohio.”
