Ohio Statehouse
COLUMBUS — “A push to weaken Ohio’s renewable energy standards is back on at the Statehouse, leading dozens of businesses involved in alternative energy to urge political leaders to stop it.
A group of 68 businesses and renewable energy groups on Wednesday wrote a letter to Gov. John Kasich and Senate and House leadership asking to ‘oppose any effort to extend a ‘freeze’ to the state’s clean energy policy.”
The letter comes a day after a Senate committee adopted the latest version of Senate Bill 320, which would make it a goal – instead of a requirement – for power companies to invest in increasing amounts of renewable energy for the next three years.
Standards for power companies to encourage customer energy efficiency methods would be lessened, too.”
